Seventeen-year-old Audrey Rose Wadsworth was born a lord’s daughter, with a life of wealth and privilege stretched out before her. But between the social teas and silk dress fittings, she leads a forbidden secret life.

Against her stern father’s wishes and society’s expectations, Audrey often slips away to her uncle’s laboratory to study the gruesome practice of forensic medicine. When her work on a string of savagely killed corpses drags Audrey into the investigation of a serial murderer, her search for answers brings her close to her own sheltered world.

My Review

First of all, thank you to the publisher for sending me an advanced copy for review! And although I’m super excited to read it before it comes out, that in no way affects my review to come!

I definitely meant to post this review before the book actually came out, and I really did try to make that deadline happen for myself, but then, ya know, school happened..

I think that’s what made it harder for me to fall into this book as easily as everyone else seemed to. Other people were smart and started it on their Summer vacations, or on a weekend before classes started.. I decided starting it the day an essay was due was a good idea, and, well, it wasn’t that great of an idea.

However, once I free from the horribleness that is school and didn’t have a million deadlines looming over me, I fell into this book just as quickly as everyone else did. And let me tell you, this story was addicting.

The writing was so amazing, I felt as if I was falling into the story versus just reading about it. I think the last time I felt like that was when I was reading The Mortal Instruments for the first time, and it was so refreshing to feel that once again!

iloveit

The characters were so realistic, and they’re so amazingly flawed, and I loved them so much. And can we talk about the romance of this book? Oh my lord, it made my heart beat hella fast and I wasn’t even a part of it.

I need the next book, like now. I don’t think I’m gonna be able to just wait another year for it to come out… How about we speed those edits up and ya know, put it out before 2017? Sounds good to me!

I hope everyone has a fantabulous day/evening/morning/whenever you’re reading this and happy reading!
