tbrtakedown challenge

I’ve decided that since I’ve worked the longest shifts, for me, at work for the past four days in a row, aka staying until 1 to 2 am to help close, I’m going to treat myself to a reading challenge being hosted on Twitter by @leaninglights. I don’t work for probably the next week or what not, except for a shift on Thursday, so I think I’ll be able to participate in this challenge more than my last few! I’m so excited to get some of these TBR books off of my list finally, especially since my TBR is ever growing with all these new Fall releases coming up!

The Challenges

  • A book that’s been on your TBR shelf over a year!
  • An unread sequel sitting on your TBR shelf.
  • A first book in a series on your TBR shelf.
  • An “out of your comfort zone” book on le TBR shelf!
  • A book from your most recent book haul!

The Books

  • Girl of Nightmares by Kendare Blake
  • Winter by Marissa Meyer
  • Talon by Julie Kagawa
  • Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
  • Bonus (not shown): Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard

Most of my updates for this are going to be on either Instagram or Twitter, mainly Twitter if I’m being honest, so make sure to follow me there if you’re going to join in! And you guys should all join in, it’s going to be super fun!

I hope everyone has a fantabulous day/evening/morning/whenever you’re reading this and happy reading!

  • Which is which? And have you started in on Red Queen? I love hearing what people think about it, and also I haven’t heard of the other books (or read – I know of Winter but I’m not that far yet. I remember liking some of Kagawa’s books).

    • Olivia

I’m such a dork, I didn’t even put which books were which, OOPSIE.

A book that’s been on your TBR shelf over a year: Winter
An unread sequel sitting on your TBR shelf: Girl of Nightmares
A first book in a series on your TBR shelf: Red Queen, but I traded it out for The Winner’s Curse
An “out of your comfort zone” book on le TBR shelf: Talon, buuuuuuut then I didn’t get to it because I’m binging The Winner’ Trilogy, so I failed one of the challenges lolol, oops.
A book from your most recent book haul: The Winner’s Crime

The only one I’ve read from Kagawa was The Iron King, which was SO good, but I’m not really sure why I didn’t continue on with the series tbh..

      • I have no idea what this book was about, and I think what I am remembering is getting jumbled in my head with something COMPLETELY different, but I read The Immortal Rules by Kagawa and it was good. I think. It’s still on my shelf to be read and reviewed because without a review, I’m clueless.
Dude. The Iron King looks way better than The Immortal Rules (probably because I’m growing out of the vamp phase and into the Fae phase). I dig it.
I think I remember reading that you were enjoying the Winner’s Curse series? I HOPE YOU LIKE IT! 😀
