Netflix & Books Tag

Posted May 22, 2016 by booksbeautyandcoffee in Bookish Tags / 1 Comment

This is a tag created and hosted by the girls at Novel Ink & Bookmark lit! As soon as I saw something that brought Netflix and books together, I was 100% in. I mean, pretty much the only thing that can make me stop binge watching a TV show on Netflix, would have to be reading a good book. And of course, if I need to get over a book hangover, or I’m just putting off reading a book I’m not feeling, I go straight to Netflix. So basically, this tag is for me.

The Rules

  • Choose a book or book series that best matches the prompt provided
  • Feel free to change the TV show if you’d like it to reflect YOUR preferences!
  • Link back to us and tag some friends to join in!

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: unlikeable character(s)

falling kingdoms

Alright, I chose to use Falling Kingdoms, not any of the other books in the series, so that I won’t spoil anyone on anything. The most unlikeable character of this series is definitely Magnus, and that’s not exactly a secret when you first start reading this series. And so automatically he’s my favorite person in the entire thing.

Vampire Diaries: your ship sank or didn’t happen

the heir

I suppose technically my ship sailed in this book in the end. At first I didn’t ship the one that ended up being end game, I shipped the one I’m pretty sure everyone else did. Yes, I’m being vague on purpose by the by. I mean, I definitely did ship the end game one, I just never thought there was a chance of it happening because the author never really let on that it would happen. But I mean, since my shipper heart always ships what is either doomed, or no where near happening, of course I went for that ship. But this time, unlike any other time ever before, it worked out in my favor.

Friends: best cast of characters/friendships

PicMonkey Collage

I have a feeling a lot of people are going to choose either one of these books, or all of them, from the Lunar Chronicles because honestly these group of friends are hilarious together. I love Thorne and Cinder together, their banter is just amazing.

Gossip Girl: hate that you love or guilty pleasure

pretty little liars

I was totally obsessed with this series before the TV show was even a thing, and then I was 100% all about the TV show as well, until it got, ya know, shitty and stuff. But the books were pretty solid, and I liked it well enough. Yes, it got kind of dragged out but I still bought every single one.. So, ya know. Weeeeee.

Doctor Who: long series you loved

PicMonkey Collage1

PicMonkey Collage2

People are always complaining about this damn series, saying it’s too long, that she needs to stop writing in this world, and to you I say, piss off. I love The Shadowhunter Chronicles and I will buy literally every single book this woman writes in this world. I think she could write about this entire literally the day I die, and I would be reading every single one.

Grey’s Anatomy: all the feels

the unexpected everything

How I Met Your Mother: bad ending

lady renegades

Okay, so don’t get me wrong, this wasn’t a “bad ending”, but it wasn’t my favorite ending I’ve ever read. I really wanted to see more of how David and Harper reacted to everything that happened, and how their lives went on, but I don’t think we’re going to ever get that.

Supernatural: favorite paranormal/fantasy

PicMonkey Collage4

I haven’t read Girl of Nightmares just yet, but I definitely did fall in love with Anna Dressed in Blood. That book had me hooked from the very beginning, and I literally couldn’t put it down from the time I picked it up until I finally finished reading it. I think it took me, maybe a day to finish it? It might have been even shorter than that.

Freaks & Geeks: left you wanting more

a court of mist and fury

I don’t have anything more to say to this one. This was perfect, and I need more than what we got. I’m a greedy, needy bitch when it comes to Sarah J. Maas books, I have no shame in admitting that.

The OC: series that should have ended earlier

hush hush

I read this so long ago, I honestly don’t remember all of it that well, but I think I wasn’t a huge fan of the last half of the series. I may reread this one day, but my TBR is so long lately, it probably won’t be any time soon.

Girl Meets World: should have a spin-off

PicMonkey Collage5

Again, like I said, I’m a needy bitch. I want all of it. And by all of it, I mean that I really want books, or just one if I have to compromise, based on Feyre’s sisters.

That 70’s Show:  set in a different time period

PicMonkey Collage6

I mean it’s kind of set in a different time period, right? And also a different world.. And a different everything I guess. But I’m in love with this series, and I already used the Infernal Devices before so I’m not gonna reuse it for this one.

Orange is the New Black: couldn’t stop reading

star touched queen

I don’t know why I couldn’t stop reading this, mainly because I’m not sure if it was because I liked it that much, or because I just had to know what the hell was going on. It was a very crazy plot, and it definitely confused me for the first half of the book. The second half though was definitely enjoyable, and made me excited for the next book.

Parks and Recreation: made you laugh out loud

PicMonkey Collage7

These books are so cute, I definitely laughed out loud several times during each chapter of these books! I loved the entire series, except the ending wasn’t my favorite.. I kind of want more, and when I say kind of I really mean I need her to make a spin off of David and Harper’s life after all the shit that went down in Lady Renegades!

One Tree Hill: favorite book boyfriend

PicMonkey Collage8

I don’t know if I have a favorite book boyfriend, because I have literally so many book boyfriends, as you can tell by my How I Picture My Fictional Boyfriends series, but Jamie is definitely one of them. I haven’t used this series for this tag yet, so I’m doing that now.

Breaking Bad: favorite villain

PicMonkey Collage

Yup, I’m using The Lunar Chronicles again, and it’s because Queen Levana was literally one of my favorite villains of all time. She’s totally out there, and 100% evil, but I think that’s what makes her her, ya know? Evil moon queen? Count me in.

Modern Family: best family or parents

to all the boys i've loved before

This is the cutest little family I’ve ever seen in my life, and I honestly cannot wait until the next book comes out! You best bet I’m going to have that on pre order as soon as I’m able to. PS: when is that happening?

Before I wrap this up, I don’t have a set list of people I choose to tag, so if you’re reading this, consider yourself tagged!

I hope everyone has a fantabulous day/evening/morning/whenever you’re reading this and happy reading!

  • Yay! So glad you joined our tag 🙂 I totally agree with sooo many of your answers haha
