Just as Harper Price starts coming to terms with her role as David Stark’s battle-ready Paladin, protector, and girlfriend—her world goes crazy all over again.

Overwhelmed by his Oracle powers, David flees Pine Grove and starts turning teenage girls into Paladins—and these young ladies seem to think that Harper is the enemy David needs protecting from.  Ordinarily, Harper would be able to fight off any Paladin who comes her way, but her powers have been dwindling since David left town…which means her life is on the line yet again.

New York Times bestselling author Rachel Hawkins brings the fun once again in the finale of this pitch-perfect romantic paranormal comedy series.

My Review

I’m seriously so sad that this story is over. I honestly kind of put off reading the final chapters of this book because I didn’t want it to end. And this book was so short, or at least it felt like it was to me, that it was actually pretty hard to put off finishing it. I just… I want more. I need more.

Since is the last book to a trilogy, it’s kind of hard to actually review it without throwing out any spoilers. However, don’t worry, I’m not going to have any spoilers in my review for this one.

Unlike a lot of last books in series or trilogies, I don’t really have an complaints about how this one ended. I think it was definitely a little bit of a let down, but it has a lot of potential for her to make a spin off using a new story line she sort of created for herself in the end. I honestly think that’s just me and my wishful thinking at this point. I’m definitely not expecting to get anything more from this world, but if it happens, it’ll be on preorder so fast.

i love them so much

This isn’t a spoiler at all, I promise, but why didn’t we get more David and Harper time? I could honestly read a book about them just arguing over what font to use for the newspaper and I’d be perfectly happy. I love them so much. Like, probably too much.

I hope everyone has a fantabulous day/evening/morning/whenever you’re reading this and happy reading!

My Rating

Four pumpkin cats

  • I absolutely loved the first two books in the series, and I’m about to jump into this one today, actually. David and Harper are one of my favorite book couples, so I can’t wait to get back to their story! I am hoping that this book is better than Miss Mayhem, because that fell a little bit flat for me.

    Awesome review!

    • You have to let me know what you thought when you’ve finished it! David and Harper are one of those book couples that I just can’t get enough of, and I hope you like this book! I think it was better than Miss Mayhem, mainly because there was actually action versus seeming like just a filler book.

  • I’ve never heard of this series! I just read the synopsis for book one and it sounds like The Sword of Summer but reversed to be from Sam’s perspective. It sounds super cute and I like trilogies that decided not to kill everyone in the end (that’s how it sounds anyways!) so I’ll add it to my Goodreads! Maybe I’ll get around to it!
Great review – love the GIFs! 😀

    • Without giving out spoilers, it definitely was a very good way to end a trilogy! It kind of made everyone happy, which usually doesn’t happen 🙂

and thank you! i’m addicted to using gifs hahah.
