Author: Sarah J. Maas

Summary: When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beat-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it.

Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about form legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin–one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

My Review:  It’s official, this woman can write about anything and make it absolutely perfect. When I first heard that she was going to be writing something based on fairy tales, including Beauty and the Beast, I pretty much freaked out. I’m obsessed with fairy tale retellings, or anything to do with them, and the fact that it was my favorite fairy tale didn’t help keep my spastic excitement down. I mean, what’s not to love about Beauty and the Beast?

This was such a beautiful book, I knew from the first five chapters that I was going to be reading this one over and over. I practically dropped everything, that includes studying for finals (oops), to start this book up. I have probably the biggest TBR list going right now, but this one shot to the top as soon as it was announced.

I’m going to be a stereotypical fangirl for a second and just talk about Tamlin. Tamlin. Literally a sexy fairy god, I’m in love with him. I swear, Sarah is brilliant when it comes to creating totally swoon worthy guys.

And I want to put it out there that I want there to be a love triangle, not even kind of sorry. I just love them okay? Plus, Rhys is pretty damn hot too, lets be real.

This gif will sum up how I feel about pretty much every guy in this book:

Now this is usually the place that I would put who I pictured for each character, but I’m going to hold off and do that in it’s own post. So instead, I’ll just freak out about everything else.

Well, I’m really just going to freak out about the fact that I don’t have the second book in my hands already. What do I have to do to get that asap? Sell my soul? Done.

Or I could make a tattoo deal and spend a week with Rhys every month.

If you’ve read this book, you understand me and that reference. If you haven’t, I probably sound insane..

I know it only came out a couple days ago and I’m going to have to not so patiently wait for people to read it so we can fangirl together, but…. everyone needs to go read it right this second, just drop everything, so we can fangirl.

I hope everyone has a fantabulous day/evening/morning/whenever you’re reading and happy reading!

Your comment on spending a week with Rhys literally made me laugh so hard.
I love SJM, she’s my favorite author, hands down.

I’m pretty much expecting some sort of love triangle in the next book, but I’m not sure how I feel about it yet. Perhaps suspiciously okay with it? Because SJM will do a fantastic job (as always).

    So excited for book 2.

She’s totally my favorite too, oh my gosh. I love her so much. Literally anything she writes about is perfect and I can’t get enough.

I’m totally down for a love triangle at any time, although I know pretty much no one else likes them. I wasn’t a huge fan of Tamlin, so I’m gonna be team Rhys no matter what. And she’d be able to write it because even in TOG she wrote what was pretty much a love square and did it so well!

  • This makes me want to read it ASAP. But I need a copy of it first.

    • You definitely should read it as soon as humanly possible! It’s such a good book, I really hope your bookstore will get some more in stock so you can!
