Book: The Perfectionists (The Perfectionists #1)
Author: Sara Shepard
Published: October 7, 2014
Genres: Young Adult, Mystery, Contemporary
Summary: In Beacon Heights, Washington, five girls—Ava, Caitlin, Mackenzie, Julie, and Parker—know that you don’t have to be good to be perfect.
At first the girls think they have nothing in common, until they realize that they all hate Nolan Hotchkiss, who’s done terrible things to each of them. They come up with the perfect way to kill him—a hypothetical murder, of course.
It’s just a joke…until Nolan turns up dead, in exactly the way they planned. Only, they didn’t do it. And unless they find the real killer, their perfect lives will come crashing down around them.
My Review: The Pretty Little Liars series, also by this author, has always been my go to guilty pleasure book series. Those books were literally the same thing happening over and over again to these same four girls and it was dragged out entirely too long but I was obsessed. When I saw she had a new book out, I had to have it.
Going into this, I knew it was probably going to be just like the Pretty Little Liars books and it was in a few ways, but not as many as I thought. It was still a bunch of pretty rich girls freaking out over a stalker, but I loved it.
As everyone knows, I’m kinda in love with casting books, but I hoenstly don’t have any idea who to cast for each girl. The only person I casted in my head was Colton Haynes as Nolan. He’s just perfect for it I think.
Aside from finding an excuse to put a gif of that beautiful boy in my review, this book really doesn’t deserve the hate I see it getting on Goodreads. I saw many people complaining there was no resolution in it, at all, but I don’t think there was supposed to be. Its not a stand alone, it’s a duology, which I’m actually really happy about. (I’m glad she’s not dragging another series out.)
I’m very excited to start the second book, the Good Girls tonight and see how this all ends! I’ll hopefully have that review up as soon as possible. I’m probably going to devour that book, I’m so pumped for it.
I hope everyone has a fantabulous day/evening/morning/whenever you’re reading and happy reading!
