book talk

I haven’t done a ‘book talk’ before, and I’m not completely sure this even counts as one, but I’m going to call it that for now until I can think of a name to call these things.

For this one, I’m freaking out about Queen of Shadows. This is the fourth installment in the Throne of Glass series, which, if you’ve read anything on my blog in the last few months you’d know that I’m completely obsessed with it. If you haven’t read The Throne of Glass series: Number one, what are you doing? Number two, go read it now so you can come back and fangirl with me.

queen of shadowsBook: Queen of Shadows

Author: Sarah J. Maas

Summary: Everyone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. But she’s at last returned to the empire—for vengeance, to rescue her once-glorious kingdom, and to confront the shadows of her past . . .

She will fight for her cousin, a warrior prepared to die just to see her again. She will fight for her friend, a young man trapped in an unspeakable prison. And she will fight for her people, enslaved to a brutal king and awaiting their lost queen’s triumphant return.

Celaena’s epic journey has captured the hearts and imaginations of millions across the globe. This fourth volume will hold readers rapt as Celaena’s story builds to a passionate, agonizing crescendo that might just shatter her world.

*There are no spoilers in here, I pinky promise*

I don’t even know if I can put into words how freaking excited I am for this book. Honestly, it’s my most anticipated book of the year. When the last book in the Mara Dyer series came out I stayed up till midnight to buy it on my Kindle asap, read and finished it at 7 am, posted my review, and then bought a real copy of the book. And that’s exactly what I plan to do with this one. I can’t simply wait until I can get to a Barnes & Noble, I need it now.

this is america i want it now

On top of my already spazzing out, Maas said that it was going to be longer than Heir of Fire. I just. Like every white girl in America likes to say, I can’t.

Now talking about the actual book, my main concern is Dorian. I’m so ridiculously, obviously team Dorian and there’s no shame in my game. I want him and Celaena together 5ever. And Chaol.. He can kinda just not. He needs to just stay in a little corner of the castle and stop messing up my otp.

As for Rowan, I need me some more Rowan. Can he and Celaena be together? I don’t understand the whole ‘bond’ thing they’ve got going so I’m not sure that they’re even shipable.. But I still the ship them and I will go down with that ship.

September 1st feels like a million years away, but I’m already preparing myself for the heart break that will mostly likely come, knowing this series. I swear, Maas is trying to kill me with the feels.

I hope everyone has a fantabulous day/evening/morning/whenever you’re reading this and happy reading!
